Eight Firms Win $1.2B in DLA Protective Gown Supply Contracts

The Defense Logistics Agency has awarded eight companies one-year contracts worth potentially $1.2B combined to provide disposable gowns for the Strategic National Stockpile under the Department of Health and Human Services’ management.

Contract work includes the supply of 73M isolation gowns through January 2021 to support the U.S. government’s COVID-19 response efforts, the Department of Defense said Monday.

The award has a base value of $335M and may cover manufacturing activities for an additional 275M disposable gowns as needed.

According to the DoD, the contract will help drive domestic production of textiles and “reduce dependency on foreign sources for critical personal protective items.”

In a separate notice, the DoD said that DLA received 129 bids and will obligate fiscal 2020 defense working capital funds for the firm-fixed-price and indefinite-quantity award.

The awardees will perform contract services in various U.S. locations through Sept. 30, 2021.

The companies are:

  • Coulmed Products Group
  • JL Kaya
  • Health Supply US
  • Maddox Defense
  • Marena Group
  • The Dow Chemical Co.
  • Unifire
  • Wise Manufacturing
