Amentum Wins $430M Contract to Help Manage Navy’s Undersea System Testing Hub

Amentum has won a potential 10-year, $430M contract to help the U.S. Navy operate and maintain a military range that examines underwater communications, sonar tracking and anti-submarine weapons systems.

The Germantown, Md.-based company will support operation of the branch’s Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center and manage a 1-square-mile outpost, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center received six offers for the cost-plus-award-fee, cost reimbursement and firm-fixed-price contract and will obligate $1M at the time of award.

Sixty-four percent of contract work will occur on the Bahamas’ Andros Island and the rest in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Work is initially scheduled to conclude in August 2025 and could extend for an additional five years if all options are exercised.
